Tenta esquecer-me, ser lembrado é como evocar um fantasma. Deixa-me fluir, toda a tristeza dos rios é não poder parar, pede um triste Mario Quintana.


Deixa-me seguir para o Mar


Tenta esquecer-me...
Ser lembrado é como evocar
Um fantasma...
Deixa-me ser o que sou,
O que sempre fui, um rio que vai fluindo...
Em vão, em minhas margens cantarão as horas,
Me recamarei de estrelas como um manto real,
Me bordarei de nuvens e de asas,
Às vezes virão a mim as crianças banhar-se...
Um espelho não guarda as coisas refletidas!
E o meu destino é seguir... é seguir para o Mar,
As imagens perdendo no caminho...
Deixa-me fluir, passar, cantar...
Toda a tristeza dos rios
É não poder parar!

To be remembered is like evoking
a ghost…
Let me be what I am,
What I have always been,
A flowing river…
The hours will sing, in vain,
Along my river banks.
I will adorn myself with stars
Like a royal mantle.
I’ll be embroidered
with clouds and wings,
Children will, now and then,
Bathe themselves in me…
A mirror does not keep
the things it reflects!

And my fate is to move on…
Move on toward the sea,
Losing what I reflect along the
way…
Let me flow, let me pass,
let me sing...
The sadness of all rivers
Is that they cannot linger!
